Dermatology was consulted to perform a biopsy which showed neutrophilic dermatosis consistent with Sweet’s Syndrome.

Acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis was first described in 1964 by Robert Sweet leading to name Sweet’s Syndrome.

The syndrome involves fever, painful rash, neutrophilic leukocytosis, and neutrophil infiltration of dermis on punch biopsy.

Many potential causes exist. Presentations are typically classified as malignancy-related, drug-induced, or idiopathic.

Differential diagnosis includes erythema multiforme, vasculitis, cellulitis.

Diagnosis is made with biopsy showing neutrophilic infiltrate.
