Answer:  Cerebral Edema

  • Loss of distinction between the gray and white matter.
  • It may predict poor outcome after anoxic brain injury, but there is insufficient evidence to recommend CT scan alone for neuroprognostication after cardiac arrest. Click here for more information
  • Emergent CT scan after ROSC is helpful to rule out trauma and non-cardiac causes of arrest.
