A 65 yo M presents to the ED after falling 10 feet off a ladder. He is complaining of R shoulder pain, but denies head trauma, LOC or other injury. An xray of the R shoulder is done. What's the diagnosis? (see below for answer)
Answer: Scapular fracture (superior border)
A 13 yo M presents to the ED c/o knee pain.
A 20 yo M presents to the ED following a high speed motor vehicle collision where he was a restrained driver.
A 40 yo M with a history of alcohol abuse presents to the ED with R shoulder pain after witnessed seizure like activity.
A 9 yo healthy F presents to the ED for coughing which started abruptly just prior to presenation.
A 4 yo M presents to the ED with R wrist pain after a fall from the monkey bars.
A 63 yo F is brought in by EMS after being found down.
A 19 yo M presents to the ED complaining of elbow pain after running into a wall with an outstretched arm.
A 35 yo M presents to the ED complaining of R hand pain after punching a wall in an upward motion. He denies any numbness or paresthesias. On exam, he has an obvious deformity of the dorsum of the R hand, but is neurovascularly intact. Xray is shown below. What's the diagnosis? (scroll down for answer)
Answer: Carpo-metacarpal dislocation (4th and 5th in this case)
